This one is made out of plastic but has a glass frame on its outer base. That is where the beauty comes in. The earbuds feel sturdy enough. I like how they look different, even compared to most earbuds within their range, like the SoundPEATS Air 5 Pro.

Although this one has a semi-in-ear design, it fits properly. If someone draws your attention to the fact that this might be a Baseus earbud, you might think it’s much more expensive.

However, the durability of the Baseus Bass BS1 NC Case is a concern. Within the first week, scratches appeared on the case. Over time, both the case and the earbuds tend to pick up light marks, especially if kept in a bag or pocket with keys or coins.

While this may not be a significant issue for all users, it is worth considering. To help protect the case and keep it looking good, I recommend using a soft carrying pouch or case and regularly cleaning both the earbuds and the charging case with a microfiber cloth. This extra care can help extend their appearance and preserve the overall look longer.

The inclusion of a lanyard loop or strap hole adds convenience, allowing users to attach a simple strap if desired.

Regardless, the Baseus Bass BS1 NC is future-proof and good-looking. Its design combines materials that enhance durability and aesthetics, making it a strong choice for anyone seeking both style and longevity. I really love this one and will be using it for a while.

Fit and Comfort

When it comes to fit and comfort, the Baseus Bass BS1 NC stands out. Its semi-in-ear design means it doesn’t go deep into your ears, avoiding pressure and improving long-term comfort, which is a clear advantage for extended use.

While testing, I did not experience any harshness or irritation. I enjoyed using this one for longer hours. It is one of the most comfortable earbuds I have used lately, especially compared to the SoundPEATS Air 4 Pro.

The lightweight construction, with each earbud weighing about 4g, contributes to overall comfort.

The case, on the other hand, is very easy to carry. Compared to the Baseus Bowie MC2, this case is far lighter and less bulky. I liked carrying it around, especially with its lanyard loop. You could just attach it to your keyholder or even your car keys.

Both the fit and comfort of the Baseus Bass BS1 NC are commendable, placing it among the more comfortable earbuds available.

ANC

For a semi-in-ear earbud, the ANC of the Baseus Bass BS1 NC blew my mind. First off, you get very good background noise reduction, way better than what you get on the QCY Melobuds. I also like the fact that this one is equipped with active wind noise cancellation.

Indoors, this one could reduce background noise to about 70%, even with the TV volume high. To be honest, this one is a solid system. Outdoors, it still put up a very impressive performance, especially during commutes.

You get two modes on this one: Normal Mode and ANC Mode. An additional perk is the wind-reduction mode, but it would have been great if transparency mode had been implemented as well. There isn’t a dedicated transparency or ambient mode on the Baseus Bass BS1 NC, so outside sounds like voices or announcements aren’t actively filtered out for you to hear while wearing the earbuds.

At the time of this review, I did not find any official workaround in the app, and Baseus has not announced plans to add a true transparency mode through a future firmware update. If this feature is important to you, it’s something to keep in mind before buying.

I did experience a little background noise. You can’t compare it to more expensive brands like Apple earbuds, but for its price, it is top-notch.

You get similar results with the SoundPEATS Air 5 Pro, but of course, that is more expensive than the Baseus Bass BS1 NC.

Overall, the ANC of the Baseus Bass BS1 NC is very good and does a great job of reducing background noise.

Sound Quality

Now, this is my most loved part. For a while, I wasn’t impressed with the sound of modern earbuds. They were often too loud or overwhelming, but the Bass BS1 NC delivers a balanced sound, providing clarity and enjoyment across genres, which is a core benefit.

You get a very balanced sound profile with its 13mm dynamic drivers, no matter the genre. As an Afrobeats fan, this one delivered quite well. You get very good bass, very clear vocals, and awesome treble.

This one delivered good acoustic quality, even with full electronic bass.

The app also lets you customize the sound for what you are listening to. One feature I was most interested in was the spatial audio.

When set to Normal, you get the regular listening experience. When set to Music, the whole scenario changes. This made the earbuds sound more premium. You may not be able to use that in some other settings.

The bass boost was mind-blowing. In the app, you can add or reduce it in a section that ranges from 1 to 5. This was also super useful, but at times it could cloud the vocals and treble.

I enjoyed using this one for listening to music, even for longer sessions. Music like Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” or a classic Afrobeats song like Runtown’s “Unleash” sounded so pleasant, with super-refined sound on the Baseus Bass BS1 NC.

This is one of the best ANC earbuds available for under $100, offering key benefits like a strong sound profile and effective noise cancellation for budget-conscious users. Compared to competitors like the SoundPEATS Air 5 Pro, QCY Melobuds, and EarFun Free Pro 2, the Baseus Bass BS1 NC holds its own.

While the SoundPEATS Air 5 Pro offers slightly better ANC and more features, but at a higher price, the BS1 NC matches or beats both QCY and EarFun on comfort, battery life, and app experience, and often comes in at a lower cost. For most users, it represents a very strong value for its price bracket and stands out among the crowd of budget ANC earbuds.

This one comes equipped with Bluetooth 6.0. That is pretty standard for most earbuds today.

I did not experience any transmission interruptions when using this model. The first connection was seamless, and its dual-device connectivity lets you stay connected to multiple devices simultaneously—a key convenience benefit.

The range, on the other hand, is where the argument lies. I was able to get about 10 meters on the range, and it was seamless. Even in my room or studio, I did not have to carry my mobile phone around all the time to listen to music. The range on this one was superb.

While gaming, I was able to use low-latency mode on this one. These earbuds include a low-latency mode that you can enable or disable in the Baseus app.

If you play mobile games, this is a good pick, as its low-latency mode greatly enhances gameplay by reducing sound delay—a clear benefit for gamers.

Battery Life

Baseus claims this one can last around 30 hours with its case. You get about 7 hours of active music playback.

I was able to get more out of it. Each earbud has about 40 mAh. The case has a total of 300 mAh. This can get to a full charge in about 1.5 hours.

I’ve only charged it about three times in two and a half weeks, which is impressive for earbuds with ANC.

Even with ANC turned on most of the time, I did not experience any significant battery drain.

In a nutshell, the Baseus Bass BS1 NC’s battery is superb, providing long-lasting performance and reducing the need for frequent charging, which is a key advantage for regular users.

Making calls on the Baseus Bass BS1 NC has been impressive. I never had an issue with people hearing me clearly.

You get super clear vocals from the other end, and your own voice is also clearly transmitted. High call quality is a standout benefit for professionals or frequent callers.

Baseus claimed to integrate an AI microphone system to reduce background noise during calls, and that is accurate.

The ANC during calls let me enjoy my calls without background noise, regardless of the environment.

Media playback has been excellent. You do not experience skips or interruptions, ensuring a smooth listening and viewing experience, which is a major benefit for media consumption.

Touch Controls and App Functionalities

The touch controls on this one are among the best from Baseus. Their responsive yet protective design minimizes accidental taps, offering the user greater control, which is a clear usability benefit.

I could easily pick up calls or move to the next song. Although I prefer buttons like those on the Baseus Bowie MC2 and MC1, I was impressed with these touch controls.
